Biography

Nazzareno Galiè, MD, FESC, FRCP (Hon)
Dr Nazzareno Galiè is full professor of cardiology at the department of experimental, diagnostic, and specialty medicine(DIMES) of the university of Bologna (UBIBO), Italy.
Professor Galiè is also director of the post-graduate specialization school of cardiology at the DIMES-UNIBO and director of the international master degree in pulmonary vascular diseases of the DIMES-UNIBO. Professor Galiè is head of the pulmonary hypertension program and coordinator of the basic care section of the cardio-thoracic vascular department at the Bologna Sant’ Orsola university hospital. Professor Nazzareno has authored 250 cited publications on heart failure, pulmonary thromboembolic disease, and pulmonary hypertension. On 2014 and 2016 respectively, Professor Galiè has been included in the Thomson Reuters highly cited researchers’ list. On 2017, 2018 Professor Nazzareno has been included in the Clarivate Analytics highly cited researchers’ list.
Professor Galiè is scholar of the Italian society of cardiology, honorary member of the Turkish society of cardiology, honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians – U.K, and fellow of the European society of cardiology. Professor Galiè has been the chairperson of the taskforce for the practice guidelines on 2004, 2009, and 2015 on pulmonary hypertension of the European society of cardiology, and the European respiratory society.
